The 8th Annual
Hilo Chinese New Year Festival
Saturday • February 13, 2010
9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Downtown Hilo &
Kalakaua Park
The Year of the Tiger roars into the historic district in the form of the
Hilo Chinese New Year Festival!
Lion Dancers parade at 9 am from
the Mooheau Bandstand along Kamehameha Avenue and up Waianuenue Avenue to
Kalakaua Park blessing people
and businesses along the way.
The free festival opens at the park
with thousands of firecrackers and exciting Lion Dance exhibitions.
Tents will be packed into the park, filled with Chinese, Asian,
Hawaiian, and local crafts, art
and products, cultural practitioners offering information and demonstrations in Feng Shui,
I-Ching, Chinese fortune telling, calligraphy, and tea.
An international “Food Court”
features island favorites with roots
in Pacific/Asia cultures offering something for every taste. Entertainment on stage will include martial arts, a cooking
demonstration, and a
Keiki Chinese Costume contest.

the toyshop and create your 'wish list' by filling up the 'Birthday Bin' with
the toys you both really like. What FUN and it Avoids Duplicates.
2. Use our special Party Invitation Inserts to let friends & family know
that your child is registered at Village Toy Shop. Of just tell your
family & friends to stop by the toyshop and pick out one or more
of the items from the 'Birthday Bin' to purchase as a gift for your
child. We've made it Easy for them.
3. You can also suggest to that your friends & family call ahead and
we can pull an item from your child's Birthday Bin. We can wrap
it up and have it ready for them to pick up on the way to the party!
