history and traditions of the Hawaiian culture through storytelling, film, music,

with Rick Mazeroski on the Palace pipe organ. Topics and films changed weekly as the program revolves around the Hawaiian lunar calendar.
"Hawaiiana Live" has run five years

Hacky Sack / Footbag Club meeting at Kalakaua Park
The Hilo Footbag Club has been started so that you can learn more about the
exciting sport of footbag / Hacky Sack and develop your skills. We will be
meeting on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 2:00 – 3:00pm at Kalakaua Park. We’ll practice some of the basics, and work on developing our skills. Ages 8 and up are
welcome with parental permission and responsiable adult supervision. We will determine skill levels and make it a fun, safe experience for everyone.

Support Group for Caregivers of Children with Challenging Behaviors
Caregivers are empowered to connect with children who have mental health diagnosis, challenging behaviors and special needs. This connection strengthens relationships and helps prevent family disruption and breakup, as well as supports reunification efforts for birth families with children in out-of-home care.

Classes are 30 minutes and swimming levels range from
infant swimming to Level 4.

WOODWORKING at the East Hawaii Cultural Center
Rosanne McGuire will teach woodworking to children ages 4 and up.
The hands-on class helps build self-confidence and lets children use their
imagination in creating. The cost is $48 monthly for members,
$60 monthly for non-members.

BEGINNING UKULELE FOR CHILDREN
